About RRC Districts
The Texas Railroad Commission (RRC) divides the state into 14 oil and gas districts for regulatory purposes. Each district has a field office that handles permitting, inspections, and compliance for wells within its jurisdiction.
Districts are numbered 01 through 10, with some having sub-districts (6E, 7B, 7C, 8A). The boundaries generally follow county lines, with each county assigned to exactly one district.
